The following students will line up on the 2nd floor (not the main floor, but upstairs) in Jesse Hall. You must be on the correct floor by 6:15 for line-up: Clinical Laboratory Science; Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound (BHS and MHS); Nuclear Medicine; Radiography; Respiratory Therapy; Communication Science and Disorders (BHS and MHS) You will be walking in on the right center aisle (facing the stage), if you would like to tell your guests/family members. The following students will line up in the basement in Jesse Hall. You must be on the correct floor by 6:15 for line-up: Occupational Therapy, Preprofessional PT BHS, Master of Physical Therapy You will be walking in on the left center aisle (facing the stage), if you would like to tell your guests/family members.
We will begin lining students up for the processional at 6:15. You will be given a card with your name to hand to the reader when you walk across the stage. Students will be led up the stairs and to the auditorium doors after the faculty have proceeded into the auditorium and are sitting on the stage. All students will be instructed on where to sit and when to walk to the stage. The most important thing I want you to remember is not exactly where you will sit or the specific logistics. What you need to remember and do is be on the right floor at 6:15! We will provide plenty of direction once you are there.
Dr. Oliver will announce when it is time to come to the stage to receive your diplomas. You will be called to the stage by your program. You will walk up the right side of the stage, cross to the left and receive your diploma. You will then sit back down in your rows, and you will be released by row for the recessional. We expect the graduation ceremony to be finished by around 8:15. You may invite as many guests as you would like to the ceremony, and doors will be open at 6:30 for guests. We will begin the ceremony at 7pm sharp!
All students must be in regalia (cap and gown) to participate in commencement. Please also be mindful of your shoes! They will be visible and very noticeable as you walk across the Jesse Auditorium stage. Undergraduate students should wear tassels on the right side of caps at the beginning of ceremonies, and after students are pronounced graduated, tassels are moved to the left side of the caps. Because graduate and professional students already have graduated (with a bachelor's degree), they should wear tassels on the left side of caps, over their hearts, throughout commencement ceremonies. MPT Students SHOULD WEAR MASTER'S REGALIA (hood, tassles on left side and NO honors medallion or cords) to the SHP Ceremony. If you are an MPT/BHS graduate and you are attending the Honors Commencement, you should NOT wear your hood to the honors ceremony.
There will be a reception for all students, families and faculty immediately following the ceremony in the Jesse Hall rotunda.
If you have guests attending the ceremony who have special needs, please contact Lisa Steward at 573-882-8011.
Chappelle Photography will be taking photographs of the ceremony and reception that you will be allowed to order. You can pre-register for photos at this link: http://www.gradimages.com/register.cfm?OID=35742008S1. You may also access the pre-registration site from the SHP home page.
