Position Announcement: Chair, Department of Physical Therapy

The School of Health Professions of the University of Missouri is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader for the position of Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. This position will open in 2010 with the retirement of the current Chair.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Jesse Hall and the ColumnsFacilitate growth in research and scholarship.
  • Curricular development, including overseeing initiatives in e-learning.
  • Lead faculty, staff, and students in department goal setting and strategic planning.
  • Develop and oversee clinical programs.
  • Provide oversight for program accreditation and review.
  • Budget planning and management.
  • Engage in school-wide planning, program development, fundraising and public relations promotion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Commitment to educational programming.
  • Record of thematic scholarship in physical therapy.
  • Tenure eligible at Associate Professor or Professor rank.
  • License eligible in the State of Missouri.
  • Demonstration of successful administrative leadership, clinical enterprise, development, and accreditation management.
